One particular query that I have pondered frequently centers around whether our passing will ultimately represent our most significant impact. When considering such an idea, other related queries come forth. Exactly why do people endeavor towards various undertakings within their lifetimes? Can it simply boil down to mere recognition bestowed upon them by fellow human beings? Alternatively, perhaps tireless efforts coupled with victories attained through competitions help shape lasting legacies, but even then how does one definitively gauge something so profoundly intangible?
The totality of life is an intricate and complex journey that cannot be compared to another’s. Each person lives their life forward, but learns from it backward, discovering new aspects and meanings along the way. We all embark on a mysterious path, mostly unknown to ourselves, in search of our destiny.
We often cross paths with our fellow humans during a period of their story without understanding that where we met them isn’t where their story began. We observe judgment solely based on the circumstances surrounding that specific time. Only looking at the differences and not the similarities with a closed heart and a closed mind. Strip away our pride and we may realize that we aren’t so different than them. Perhaps if we looked through the lens of love and empathy, our commonality would guide us. A recollection of our lifetime is a perception-based analysis. In the end, will your death be your greatest impact?
